EFSA STAYS FIRM AFTER 300 PROPOSALS REGARDING HEALTH CLAIMS ADVICE

BY KEITH NUTHALL THE EUROPEAN Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has today (Thurs 26/7) published formal guidance to food manufacturers and retailers seeking European Union (EU) authorisation for product health claims. Despite receiving 300 comments on its initial draft from industry experts and others, EFSA has not changed the main principles it originally proposed.
