EU LAUNCHES FISH SPECIES DNA DATABASE

THE EUROPEAN Union (EU) has helped fund a database containing DNA records for key commercial fish species in Europe, enabling processors, retailers and consumer groups to check whether fish labelling is accurate. The free AZTI-Tecnalia database contains more than 700 references for species ranging from tuna to hake and cod.
