EBRD PLANS KAZAKH BREWERY LOAN

THE EUROPEAN Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is planning to lend Euro 31.7 million to Kazakhstan's Efes Karaganda Brewery JSC in local currency (5.2 billion Tenge) to support the beer producer's expansion. EBRD President Jean Lemierre noted per capita beer consumption has been growing - from 6 litres in 1999 to an estimated 30 litres last year.
