THE EUROPEAN Commission is imposing temporary safeguard duties on farmed salmon imports, especially from Norway and the Faroe Islands. Euro 522 on every tonne of imported unfilleted fish and Euro 722 per tonne of filleted salmon will be levied on fish exceeding certain fixed quotas until next February.
