MAJOR INDIAN CONSORTIUM PRESSES AHEAD WITH BID FOR AFGHAN IRON ORE MINE CONCESSION

AN INDIAN consortium of three private companies and three public organisations led by the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is to submit a final formal bid for a concession on the Hajigak iron ore mine in central Afghanistan. The mine holds a reserve of around 1.8 billion tonnes of high quality magnetite with 62-63% iron content.
