Keith NuthallTHE FIRST customs-free zone in South Korea is to be launched at New Inchon International Airport, the country's Ministry of Construction and Transportation has announced. It is part of a plan to develop the airport as a distribution hub for east Asia. It is anticipated that the zone will 1.98 million square metres in size, with companies being invited in 2003 to apply for permits to operate from its territory, after initial construction has been completed and basic utility supply services have been installed.
