Keith NuthallAN ACTION plan is being developed by the European Commission and the EU automobile industry to promote the introduction of high-tech safety systems in European motor-vehicles; the programme will probably include funding for research and the demonstration of innovations in the field.In a speech in Brussels, EU information society Commissioner Erkki Liikanen said that the plan would be proposed soon and "is expected to encourage industry, at the highest level, to support a roadmap for the introduction of further (vehicle) safety measures."
