"NEVER in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to be a deputy vice-chancellor," says Saran Kaur Gill, who fulfils that elevated role at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) where she runs UKM's industry and community partnerships.
She started out some 30 years ago as a basic language instructor and reflects modestly on her impressive career progression: she is also Professor of UKM's School of Language Studies and Linguistics. "If I can do this, then anyone can," she said.
