Norwegian seal hunt gains government funding
March 15th, 2016The Norwegian Fisheries Minister announced last week that he would give NOK 2 million (around EUR210 000) to the seal hunt against the vote of the parliament on the government budget for 2016. This is despite controversy over the seal hunt and seal products – furs and leather – that has led to jurisdictions such as the US, Mexico, EU, and Russia banning them in some way.
